Animal Control, Protection and Rescue Officers

All of our Humane Officers are tested and certified through the State of Wisconsin. This allows them to investigate abuse and cruelty complaints and enforce all local and state animal laws.

Amiie has been with the Humane Society since 1978.  She started as a part-time weekend animal control officer and is currently our Senior Humane Officer.

Rich has worked as a Humane Officer since being certified in the fall of 2000.  Rich enjoys calls involving the need to rescue animals or provide protection. Rich has recently been selected to represent the Coulee Region Humane Society in the La Crosse County Preparedness/Response team. Rich enjoys a very active lifestyle outside of work, and enjoys the time he spends with friends.

"What do I want to be when I grow up? Someone who helps make life a little better for animals." So that is exactly what Lynn Zee Dokken-Knox decided to do when she joined the Animal Control Protection and Rescue Department at CRHS as a Humane Officer in 2008. Animals have always been a major passion in her life, and now life for Lynn Zee has more passion.

Kathy KasaKaitas was the one growing up saying, "Mom, can I keep it?" I've always been the one trying to help the animals in need, with great passion. Once considering becoming a veterinarian, I chose a different way to help. I joined the Humane Officer Staff in 2009 and only wish I had done so years ago. I also hold a degree in education which I feel will be a huge asset in this field.

Eric VanOsdol: I have worked for the Coulee Region Humane Society since moving to the area in the Fall of 2009. In the Spring of 2010, I joined the Animal Control team. I believe that with prior animal welfare experience and a need to always be learning, helps round out an already great group of officers.
