Forget Me Not

Bonzai

Hi, I’m Bonzai, this week’s Forget Me Not! I am a 4 year old Pit Bull Terrier and I LOVE belly rubs! I am one of kind and sure to bring all kinds of love into your life.

We Pit Bulls get such a bad rap (I don’t know how….seriously, just look at my cute face).  In all seriousness though, my friends and I receive discrimination from an ill-informed public due to no fault of our own. Did you know that in early America, Pit Bills were considered “prized possessions” and were vital members of the family? We were considered the “All American Dog”. Sadly, in the early 80’s the same advertisers that once coined the breed as the “All American Dog” began exploiting Pit Bulls as “fighters”. By taking advantage of the public’s growing fears, the integrity of the breed was inevitably dragged down.

Thankfully, dog fighting is now considered a felony in all 50 states and many are working hard to restore the breed’s image. You can make a difference too. Give me a second chance and you and I together can help change the opinions of many. Bring me into your life and let me show the world how wonderful owning a Pit Bull can be. Together we can prove that strength, confidence, sense of humor and a zest for life are all hallmarks of the breed. Give me a second chance. I know it will be the best decision you have ever made.

From today (Monday, February 20th) until Sunday (February 26th) Bonzai’s adoption fee has been reduced by 75% in hopes that he finds the perfect forever family!

Cuba

Hi, I’m Cuba, this week’s Forget Me Not. I am ready to be YOUR Valentine! I am quite the catch. I am about 2-3 years old, neutered, current on my vaccinations and I have short, white hair with orange tiger markings. I am currently living at PetSmart and I know once you come meet me, you’ll be hooked FOREVER!

I have a HEART the size of the Caribbean and I can’t wait for you to BE MINE! I am friendly, affectionate, and one COOL CAT. Give me a head rub and I’M YOURS! Some say I’m a CUTIE PIE and I guarantee that bringing me into your life is sure to bring a SMILE to your face even on the worst days. Our NEW LOVE is sure to be a HOME RUN. I DREAM of the day that someone will call me “MY PET” and I would love nothing more than to be your one TRUE LOVE! My outgoing personality will help me fit into your home, even if you have other pets. Oh HOW NICE it would be to have another furry friend to keep my company while you are away! Give me a chance and I promise to always BE TRUE to you. So come on, come visit me at PetSmart….once you HUG ME and KISS ME, you feel the REAL LOVE that I have to offer. Can’t wait to meet you! Until then…LUV YA!

MWAH - XOXO,

Cuba

Fern

Hello! My name is Fern and I am this weeks Forget Me Not. I am about 2-3 years old and I am spayed, current on my vaccinations and I have short, black hair. I’ve been at the shelter for far too long and I’m ready to go home! Before we meet, let me tell you a little bit about myself.

Much like a fern which has no seeds or flowers, I don’t have multiple colors or unique markings; BUT that doesn’t mean a thing—I am beautiful in my OWN way! I am more than aware that black cats like me are often looked over but you can change that for me. If people only stopped to get to know me, they would find out that I am a very affectionate little lady! I might be shy at first but I’ll warm up to you very quickly. I love to cuddle and I have a great personality too. I am young so we’ll have plenty of years ahead to become the best of friends (although I don’t think it will take that long). We can have great play sessions together and when you are ready to head to bed after a long day, I’ll be right by your side to snuggle all night long! Did you know that in some folklore, anyone who sees an extremely rare and hard to find “fern flower” is thought be to guaranteed happiness and wealth for the rest of their life? Think of me as your “fern flower”. I can’t promise you the rich part, but I know I will make you happy for the rest of you life!

Fern is currently living at PetSmart in Onalaska. Shelter Adoption Counselors are at PetSmart from 4-6:30pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. From today (Monday, February 6th) until Sunday (February 12th) Fern’s adoption fee has been reduced by 75% in hopes that she finds the perfect forever family!

Asher

Hello, my name is Asher and I am the Forget Me Not this week. I have been here for 75 days (and counting!) and I CANNOT wait to find a new home to call my very own. Let me tell you a little about myself. I am about 2-3 years old. I am neutered, current on all of my vaccinations and I have very soft, short, gray hair.

I don’t know why all of the nice people that come in to the shelter keep passing over me. Maybe it’s because of the color of my fur. I admit, many people don’t think gray is an exciting color but….let me tell you all of the reasons why gray is such a great color. Maybe it will change your mind, or maybe you can tell your friends why having a gray cat is so cool! Much like me, gray is considered a sophisticated color. It is a cool, balanced, and conservative color that goes with everything. It’s a neutral color that signifies power and intellect. If you spend a little time with me, you’ll realize that this describes me to a “T”! Don’t worry though, it’s not all seriousness all the time-I love to play too! Much like the color gray is its own compliment, I do my best on my own. I can get a little too playful sometimes so I need a family who can understand my play style. Children are great and all, but I’d really prefer to be in a home with teenagers or no children at all. If my color doesn’t make me cool enough, it’s been argued that my name means happy and blessing. This meaning is perfect because adding me to your home would be a blessing and will bring you all the happiness in the world (I promise)!

From today (Monday, January 30th) until Sunday (February 5th) Asher’s adoption fee has been reduced by 75% in hopes that he finds the perfect family!

Infinity

“TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!” Hello, my name is Infinity and I am this week’s Forget Me Not. I am a Pit Bull Terrier mix and I am about 5 years old. I am spayed, current on vaccinations, have a current heartworm screen and tick panel and I have a microchip. The only thing that I’m missing is a family, but hopefully YOU can help me with that!

Have you ever seen the movie Toy Story? You know how Buzz and Woody lose their family but desperately fight to get home? Well that’s kind of what happened to me. My family couldn’t take care of me anymore but, just like in my favorite movie, I know there is a happy ending for me. This shelter life can be really hard sometimes. It gets pretty loud and I’m happier with a quieter atmosphere.  I am looking for the perfect family who will spoil me with just the right mixture of play time and relaxation. I am a little overweight so an exercise routine would make me one happy girl! I love my stuffed toys, and sometimes I find one I like so much I even take it on walks with me. Do you have a cat in your home? No problem! I’ve lived with one of those little furry things before and I find them to be quite nice. I’m a big snuggle-bug too and would gladly cozy up with you after a long day of work (or shoveling!). Most importantly, if you give me a chance, I promise to love you forever….make that longer than forever! No time spent with you will be enough and you’ll always have a friend in me.

From today (Monday, January 23rd) until Sunday (January 29th) Infinity’s adoption fee has been reduced by 75% in hopes that she finds the perfect forever family!
