I am a planner and of course all of my vaccinations are current so we can travel to wherever we please. Luckily, my human friends knew how organized I like to be so they even gave me a microchip. If we ever get separated, you’ll know just how to find me—but as long as we promise to abide by the buddy-system and be great travel buddies, we should be able to stay together forever!

Paris may be deaf BUT you shouldn’t let that shape your opinion about her. Some of the most influential people in the world have had limitations in their lives. Helen Keller learned to communicate despite not being able to hear or see and went on to be the first deaf and blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Thomas Edison, despite having hearing loss, developed many devices, like the light bulb, that greatly influenced life around the world. Ludwig Van Beethoven, a German pianist and composer, continued to compose, conduct, and perform even after becoming completely deaf and still remains one of the most famous and influential composers of all time. Winston Churchill, a British Conservative Politician, is regarded as one of the greatest wartime leaders of the century even though he had a speech impediment. Paris is no different. She continues to genuinely enjoy life and all it has to offer. She loves spending time with her human friends and seems to enjoy other animals. She has a world of love to give and needs a special person to take a chance on her. Winston Churchill once said, “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference” and Paris has every intention of living life to its fullest. She is very well adjusted and is a very smart girl. She knows “sit” and “down” through hand gestures. Deaf dogs can be taught sign language commands and are fully trainable. We can’t promise that Paris will become famous and influential to the world, but we CAN promise that she will make a difference in YOUR world. 'Yesterday…all my problems seemed so far away.' Some people are ashamed to grow older but NOT ME! I am enjoying life and plan to age with grace. It takes a long time to get this sweet! Like fine wine or cheese, some things are just better aged. The way I see it, I’m just getting older AND better. I wasn’t always such a mature, sophisticated soul. Back in my kitten days, I was loud, crazy, and would stay up all night. Now, I’m wiser, smarter and calmer. Sure, I still have some spunk in me and I’ll still chase a string or mouse toy if given the chance- but I’m ready for a mature relationship that involves plenty of nap and lap time! I have a lot of living left to do and a lot of love left to give. The only thing missing is someone to share it all with. The only thing worse than growing old is growing old alone. Give me a chance and we can grow old together.

My first wish was for endless head rubs. Yes, that may sound like a silly thing to wish for, but they are my favorite (you know what they say, don’t knock it until you try it)! The second wish was for a supply of never ending food! I do love to eat and my friends here at the shelter are always filling up my bowl! My final wish was for freedom, but that one hasn’t been granted….yet. The process has started, which is why I ended up here at the shelter with these fine people and not a stray on the streets, but now I need a family to grant the last part of my wish and take me home! It’s a whole new world out there and I’m just itching to get out of here and begin my life again with a wonderful family! You’ll find that I’m a very laid back gentleman and I love to cuddle. You may be wondering why a beautiful girl like me is having a hard time finding a home. Well, I wondered that myself, but my friends here at the shelter are doing all they can to find me the best home possible. So I come with a few pre-adoption requirements…that shouldn’t scare you! It just means that you are that much more prepared for what it takes to own a dog. Unfortunately, I’m considered a “bully breed” due to no fault of my own and because of that, there are that a few extra steps you must take if you want me. You’ll have to have either homeowners or renters insurance that covers my breed. You’ll also have to put down a $100.00 training deposit that is returned to you as long as you put me through a training course. That’s not so bad right? Insurance is a GREAT thing to have and a required training class is only going to make me the best dog that I can be! Sounds like a pretty good deal for you AND me! In fact, if you go through a few extra steps just to have me in your life, well that would really mean a lot to me and I promise I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to you! I can be a little shy at first, but can you blame me for having a few trust issues? I warm up real fast because I can’t resist attention and affection! This will be my first real summer where I’m big enough to do fun things outside and I can’t wait! It’s going to be really special and I’d love nothing more than to share all of those fun summertime activities with YOU!  I’ve even lived with other pets before so you won’t have to worry about me fitting in with the rest of the family! Make a little extra effort and give me the chance that no one else has….I’ll be the best friend you’ve ever had.
