Race for the Rescues FAQs
Can I bring my pet to the run/walk with me?
Yes! Pets are more than welcome to attend Race for the Rescues. Please have your pet properly contained on a leash at all times for his/her safety. A limit of one pet per adult is permitted.
How do I sign up?
You can register for the event by clicking the "Register Now" button on the event's main page. A separate online registration page will prompt you through the sign up process. If you are experiencing any difficulties with your online registration, please contact Samantha Luhmann, community outreach coordinator, at 608-781-4014 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I bring my child to the run/walk with me?
Yes! Children are more than welcome to attend Race for the Rescues. Youth ages 6-17 years old must register separately and must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Youth registration is $20. Parents/guardians must also register separately for the event. Adult registration is $30. Children ages 5 years and younger do not need to register; however, their attendance must be noted on their parent/guardian adult registration.
Both adult and youth are encouraged to raise funds in lieu of registering for this year's event!
Will there be food and beverages available at the run/walk?
Yes! Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available at Race for the Rescues.
Can I register the day of?
Yes! Participants are able to register for Race for the Rescues the day of the event. Same-day registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Same-day adult registration is $35. Same-day youth registration is $25. Youth must be accompanied by an parent/guardian in order to register.
Do I get a T shirt for signing up?
Yes! All Race for the Rescues participants will receive a complimentary T shirt for registering. T shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for registrations after May 1, 2017.
Does my animal need to be current on his/her vaccinations?
Yes! All participating pets must be current on distemper, bordetella and rabies vaccinations. All participants must agree to our terms and waiver upon registration acknowledging and agreeing to this requirement.

How far is the route?
The Race for the Rescues route will measure about 4 kilometers and span throughout scenic Goose Island Park. The route will begin and end at Shelter No. 2. Mile markets will be located throughout the route, in addition to run/walk staff and volunteers to help lead the way!
What do I need to bring with me to the walk?
The only thing you will need to bring to Race for the Rescues if you have already registered online is yourself! Come prepared to give your first and last name, in addition to any family members that might be accompanying you to the event, for check in, and enjoy the event. If you are registering the day of the event, please bring a photo ID with you and money to pay for your registration fee.
When and where do I pick up my registration packet?
Race for the Rescues registration packets can be picked up starting at 7:30 a.m. the day of the event. The race will officially start at 9 a.m.
How do I get to the run/walk?
Race for the Rescues will take place at Shelter No. 2 in Goose Island Park, located at W6488 County Road GI in Stoddard, Wis. To get there, take WI-35 S/Great River Road and turn right onto County Road GI.
What happens if it rains?
Race for the Rescues will take place rain or shine! Please dress accordingly if the weather forecast calls for rain.
