Holly Sauer

I grew up in a small town in Minnesota. We lived in the country with all kinds of animals-including many dogs.  My first experience with animal training started at a young age when I competed in 4H horse shows. I've had animal companions all my life, and can't imagine a life without them.

I first came to the Coulee Region Humane Society working as an Animal Caregiver. While I love all animals, I'm a true dog person at heart. Over the course of 8 years I became CRHS's lead dog caregiver and was responsible for dog behavior assessments prior to placing dogs available for adoption, pre-adoption consultations, and post-adoption follow up. I spent many additional hours learning from our previous trainer and assisting her with training courses as well as one-on-one behavior consultations.

At home, I have two (soon to be three) boxers. I have taken my own dogs through a variety of training courses including puppy, basic obedience, Canine Good Citizen, and show dog handling classes. I continue to compete with my boxers in AKC conformation shows.

Competing in dog shows is my passion, but my other hobbies include photography and hiking (with my dogs, of course.)
