Hi, i’m Hazel Rae!
ABOUT :
Type Of Animal: Cat
Breed: Domestic Medium Hair Tortie
Age: 2
Gender: Female
Up To Date On Vaccinations: Yes
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Is the cat declawed: No
Experience with and how well do they interact with children: Hazel has not been around children. She does not enjoy being held and I think she would be best suited for a home without children. She is easily startled by loud noises - ie something drops onto the floor, etc.
Experience with and how well do they interact with cats: I had 3 neutered adult cats at home who all got along perfectly. Adding Hazel to our family has created a lot of stress for my other female cat and I have also observed Hazel urinate several times throughout the house. This has become a huge problem in the home. The other cats tolerate her but she can be standoffish with them. I think she would be happiest in a single cat home without children. When she is one on one in her own room, she is cuddly and loves attention. Hazel and my other female cat have become increasingly territorial in the house and this has caused a lot of anxiety amongst the cats and at least one cat is marking.
Experience and how well do they interact with dogs: Hazel has never been around dogs. She tends to be nervous so I would not recommend her live with a dog.
Things need to work on: Urine marking/urinating. She does come when called.
Favorite activities: We have a catio on our deck and she loves to sit in there and watch the birds. She has several cat trees in front of windows overlooking birdfeeders. She is a typical housecat; she sleeps a lot. She has been very pampered at our home making it all the more difficult to surrender her.
Favorite treats and/or toys: She is more finicky than my other cats about her diet. She LOVES Churros (and tube cat treats) and Feline Greenies , Purina Pro Plan dry cat food or Science Diet dry food. Unlike my other cats, she doesn't particularly enjoy Fancy Feast wet food. She will nibble at Sheba cuts with gravy. She drinks from a stainless steel cat fountain.
Unique personality traits: She has an adorable way of talking to her humans - a unique little chirp. She doesn't meow a lot, but sometimes when we talk to her. She has absolutely gorgeous markings and coat. She is a petite girl. She loves her cat trees and uses the scratching post. She does not scratch furniture. She is a picky eater to some degree.
Ideal home: She would do best in a quiet, single cat home. She does not go outside except for a secure catio. She is playful. She is learning to let me clip her claws - work in progress. She doesn't particularly enjoy being brushed. Hazel is up to date with vet cares and immunizations. She has been cared for at La Crosse Vet Clinic and more recently I switched our vet care to Sandlake Veterinary Clinic because it is near our home. Her last wellness visit was 1/19/26. She had a clean bill of health. She is current for rabies and FVRCP. DOB 4/2024. Spayed 9/2024 through Tabby Town.
