Hi, i’m Sabine (Beans)!
ABOUT :
Type Of Animal: Dog
Breed: Jack Russel - Rat Terrier Mix
Age: 2 years, 9 months
Gender: Female
Up To Date On Vaccinations: Yes
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Is your dog house trained: Crate Trained, House Trained .
Energy level/ daily exercise needs: Very High (3+ hours of vigorous exercise) –dog has strong working instincts (ex: herding, scent tracking, malinois).
Experience with and how well do they interact with children: She is a bit rowdy, and has knocked over a 5 year old once. After that, she became very timid around children. Overall she has had very little experience with children, only a few interactions during family holidays.
Experience with and how well do they interact with cats: She does not mix well with cats. She wants to play with them, or protect her owner from them. She struggles with herding behaviors with cats.
Experience and how well do they interact with dogs: She is a bit timid around other dogs. When she was younger, her brother ended up biting her tail and scaring her. She is not aggressive at all, and is more scared/interested in the other dogs. She has only interacted with dogs around the same size as her, and a few German shepherds at the dog park. Again she has never shown signs of aggression, she is mostly just a bit timid around other dogs.
Things need to work on: She can be mouthy, little sounds outside tend to make her bark, or seeing people nearby can cause her to bark a bit. She is crate trained, but has slept in a bed for a while. She has been in the crate overnight again for a few weeks and is adjusting back to a normal schedule. She comes when called, unless she decides what she is focused on is more important. Usually this only happens in situations where she becomes anxious.
Favorite activities: She loves snuggles on the couch, sniffing around the yard and exploring new areas. She struggles with walks around other dogs that bark as they cause her to get anxious and she can tend to pull on the leash a bit. She loves doing puzzles, sitting with you on the couch, chewing her favorite chew toy, and playing fetch/tug'o'war.
Favorite treats and/or toys: Sabine loves rolled beef cheeks coated in chicken. They are her favorite chews to get, and she will keep herself busy with one for quite a while. She loves milk bones and the occasional pup cup when she comes along for a ride to the coffee shop.
Unique personality traits: Sabine is not food aggressive, but she can be a bit with wet food. We gave her a wet food/real chicken treat made by purina and she snarled at our cat. We have not given her wet food since. She also loves cuddling with you by your head and will usually sit with her but right next to your ear if you let her, and loves jumping up and putting her front paws over your shoulder, and getting hugs and pets on the couch.
Ideal home: Sabine would do the best in a home that has a fenced in backyard for outdoor play, a relatively quiet environment, and possibly another dog. She has played with dogs and seems to enjoy it, but hasn't had a ton of socialization in the last few months.
